Branding, Wayfinding & Icongraphy Heathrow Express needed a coherent wayfinding system introduced to their stations in Heathrow Airport. The inherited BAA system was not on brand and no longer functioned. Every possible customer user flow journey was tested on site, and a comprehensive signage schedule was put together. Typography was selected and tested to ensure maximum legibility. Pictograms were created to ensure every communicative option could be pictorially represented. Intensive colour development was undertook to create bespoke coloured vinyl, ensuring the iconic brand, was accurately represented. The outcome was a cohesive and functioning system, that allowed users to make intuitive, split second decision when often under time constraints and stress.
